citofarera & highjacker?

according to Spybot I have Citofarera, which is deleted & then reapears when I start Internet explorer.
I also have a dila up that keeps on installing called connessione predefinita and e1xplorer icons poping up in my decktop.

If you still need help, Scan again with HijackThis, and copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Hello, I exactly have the same problem with Citofarera as Aureliomark. I have pop up which appears every time I am on the internet explorer… Please find my report. If someone can give some help, it would be very nice….Many Thanks… Regards, pmbstyle

Please do not post your logs in someone else's thread. Start a new thread by clicking on New Topic. Do not post your problems into other open logs saying "I have the same issue, here is my log" etc. This is too confusing for everyone involved. My computer has developed this odd behavior:

Only when I have Internet explorer on do I get web pages popping automatically, from casinos & an italian xxx site.

A pop up window also appears on my desktop titled Private Internet zone and asking questions in italian. It has a yes & no button. I always reply no, but dont understand italian.

A small shortcut appears on the desktop called e1xplorer. I delete it & it keeps on reappearing.

When I open Internet explorer my default web page appears as "auto:blank". I set it again to google & next time I restart computer it is set again to "auto:blank".

When I open "Network connection", I notice under Dial up a connection called " Conessione predefinita" I have deleted this a few times but keeps on reappearing.

Otherwise the computer behaves ok

I suggest you do this:

Download DelDomains.inf
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

Right-click and select….. Save Target As….Save

To use: Right-click and select……. Install (no need to restart)
**Note** This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone"



Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Delete this Folder if listed:
C:\Documents and Settings\marcosj\Application Data\ratorefaci




Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.


Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.





If you dont have any programs like these, I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
