Ewido and McAfee Keep Finding Trojans

I run Ewido and McAfee Often. Ewido constantly Finds Trojans like

Trojan.Pakes
Trojan.Dialer
Trojan.Dialer.pz
Downloader.zlog.aby
Downloader.zlog.yj
Downloader.zlob.aal
Dropper.VB.lu

and such.
McAfee Never finds trojans or viruses in the scans. Only Potentially Unwanted Programs. McAfee Constantly Pops up in the little red alert box that it found a new Trojan In the temporary Internet Files Folder or the Windows/temp folder. I delete it every time and block access to the Internet. I have since Deleted every File in the temp folder that looks exactly like the ones McAfee finds. Except they keep coming back. I don't know is this where Internet Explorer stores the temporary web pages. Anyways, I have a Peer to Peer Network and I think I might have downloaded some malicious files. I always scan Executable files with ewido and McAfee Before I open them In order to stem the tide of viruses and trojans. Please help. I am posting HJT Logs, SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) Rapport, and Ewido Report. The Reason I am being so thorough is that I want to get rid of it all. I hope I'm not being a Pest.

Please Help.

Thanks,
MMDOGG01

Hi mmdogg01:

Please print, or copy and paste this text into a Notepad file and place it on your desktop, to review as you work. Please proceed with this fix in the order provided below and read this text carefully, before beginning.

I have a Peer to Peer Network and I think I might have downloaded some malicious files.

I suspect you know where your problems are coming from, if you are doing file sharing. There are much safer alternatives.

You can empty Ewidos quarantine.

Next, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process. A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Then please reboot, into Normal Windows.

Disable Ewido:
Please disable Ewido, as it may interfere with the fix.
To disable Ewido:
From the system tray:
  • Right-click the system tray icon and uncheck real time protection.
    or From within Ewido -
  • Under 'Your security status', if the real time protection is active, deactivate it by clicking 'real time protection' until the status says 'inactive'.
Once your log is clean you can re-enable Ewido.

Optional - VIEWPOINT MANAGER Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without users approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This will change from what we know in 2006 read this article: http://www.clickz.com/news/article.php/3561546Additional info: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_137262.htmI suggest you remove the program now. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following programs if present.
  • Viewpoint

MMDOGG01
Hi mmdogg01:

Okay, so I followed the Instructions ( I just realized that I didn't delete wineij32.dll with killbox. which you told me to. Instead I did what I always do with files that are write protected or in use - I rename them, then I reboot. The file doesn't start up in the registry or wherever because the filepath is missing right? well, anyways I just delete it after I reboot.) Here are the HJT Logs and Smitfraud. (By the Way, do you know why The desktop back ground and the homepage of the internet reverted to default when I rebooted - after I deleted everything in safe mode? That bothers me. I don't know why.)

No problem with wineij32.dll, just so its gone, it doesn't matter how.
I don't know why your desktop background and homepage reverted to default, but I'm sure by now you have them both reset. Don't think it had anything to do with deleting anything in safe mode, but you never know for sure.

Are you sure you rebooted after being in safe mode ? Your Hijack This log looks like it was ran in safe mode.

Try rebooting into Normal Mode, then run Hijack This again.
Scan and copy the log and post it into this topic.

Thanks. :P
Okay, so here it is. The new logfile.

Ok, so here are the Hijack this logs and ewido. I did everything you told me to. But. While I was on the computer last night something happened. It Started with the Internet not working,(The reason I have not been able to respond as quickly) then when we called The dsl company they tested it ( I did also ) and nothing seemed to be physically wrong with the connection. Then when the technician told me to disable the McAfee Firewall a windows blue screen occurred. It said windows experienced a critical error and shut down to prevent further damage. I then began a physical memory dump. I was unable to write down the error code, because I was on the phone with the technician. Only when the physical memory dump was complete and the computer restarted did the technician tell me I should have written down the codes. anyways, I hope nothing is wrong with the hardware. Please help me. And Thank you very much for your patience so far.

    Hi mmdogg01:

It does not appear that Ewido was ran using the new directions given in my previous post. Cookies are not normally a problem, but these were not dealt with by Ewido. "No action taken". If they had been Viruses, or Trojans, Ewido would not have dealt with them either. Please, follow all directions carefully and provide logs only as requested.

Your Hijack This log looks clean.
If you are having problems with your onboard McAfee Virus scanner, possibly it needs to be downloaded again, as there is a file missing.

Close all windows and browsers, leaving only HijackThis running.

Place a check beside each of these entries listed below, if still present.

    O3 - Toolbar: McAfee VirusScan - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - c:\progra~1\mcafee.com\vso\mcvsshl.dll (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Please advise if any problems remain.

Please use the [external image: Posted Image] button to reply.
Okay, I got it here's the Hijack this Log. Oh, by the way, did you see my post before the last logs. I accidentally hit enter and wasn't able to put my hijack this logs in it. I guess you must've seen the last with the hijack this logs. anyways, in the second to last post I told you of some problems I was hoping you could help me with. I am also having problems with my other computer I was hoping you could help me with. I hope I'm not imposing or crossing boundaries by asking for help with that computer also I was thinking you have a policy to start a new forum for that computer…….. Thank you for bearing with me though. I really appreciate your help. Hi mmdogg01:

If your firewall is turned off, please turn it back on. Never go onto the Internet without a working firewall.

The problems you mention in your previous post do not seem to be Malware related, which is what we deal with in this Malware Removal forum.
For other computer problems, please use the following link.
    http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showforum=83

For problems with another computer, please post into the forum here that most closely deals with those problems. Be sure to start a "New Topic".

Your Hijack This log is clean.

One of the best features of Windows XP is the System Restore option, however if Malware infects a computer with this operating system the Malware can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is necessary after a virus removal.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

    (winXP)

    1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

    2. Reboot.

    3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

    * Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:
Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
    Click the "Delete Cookies" button
Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK

    * Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have Firefox installed):
    Go to Tools > Options.
Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.
Click the Clear button located to the right of each option (History, Cookies, Cache).
Click OK to close the Options window
Alternatively, you can clear all information stored while browsing by clicking Clear All.
A confirmation dialog box will be shown before clearing the information.

    * Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin

Go to start > run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
Let it scan your system for files to remove.
Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
    Press OK to remove them.
