iworm_attck_v122.02a please help

I hope that you can help me with this.
On my Windows toolbar I keep getting a message that says my computer has been infected with spyware click here to get a free scan. Then it tries to sell me a product. I also get other pop ups when I am trying to browse the internet. Some being from adult websites. A Couple of times I got the message that I had iworm_attck_v122.02a and OHPEver4.12.23 I have tried Adaware, Trend Micro and one other program that I cannot recall the name of right now. Hello and thanks for returning the information. You did a great job :thumbup: removing Smitfraud but there is more infection not related to it, where did you get all of this junk?

Move HJT from the Desktop for safety. I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe, if you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm

Let's look at this optional item: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE read about it: http://www.castlecops.com/startuplist-180.html If you want the spyware item removed, you will have to search for the file. It is usually in C:\Windows\ just be careful to delete only the file in red: ALCXMNTR.EXE

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

ALCXMNTR.EXE <<< delete this file

C:\WINNT\system32\ec5fe69e.exe <<< delete this file

:\Documents and Settings\AJ\Local Settings\Application Data\ec5fe69e.exe <<< delete this file

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running now.

Here is the new HJT. I have no idea where all of this came from. It's my Dad's computer. I hope I did this right. You should be able to tell..right? The only file that I could not find to delete is the ALCXMNTR.EXE in step 4. I found and deleted everything else. Boot up was a little slower than usual or maybe it was just me? Thanks again for all of your help.

Keep it mind the first boot or so will be a little slower until Windows repopulates the folder, this is why we suggest it only if an infection may be running from there.

Make sure you delete the junk you put in the ewido quarantine folder.

Your HJT log looks good, if you have no other issues you are good to go.

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I cannot thank you enough! One last thing, can I get rid of the programs that I had to download to fix the problems? If so can I just delete them or do I have to go into the control panel to remove them? I think that is it…If I think of anything else I will give you a shout. Sunny

Yes, you can delete the program for SmitfraudFix. My suggestion is if you have disk space, I would keep ewido, the updates are free and it will remove junk once the trial is over, just turn it off in Services. I would also keep the ATF-Cleaner, uses no resources and does a great job. Thanks
