I am having a problem with my Office XP programs. If I try to add a file to an office file to a Microsoft document such as a word document or a powerpoint presentation, the program freezes and must be shut down. This seems to happen with adding any sort of file: picture, movie, etc. The point where the computer freezes is when the program is supposed to bring up the file box that allows you to select the location of the file to import. Please let me know if anyone has had this problem. Thanks.

Hi, Try this: Back up all important files, settings, and information, etc and then set up a "Restore Point" then: 1 Open Word 2 Click on Help In the drop down box see if there is an entry for "Detect and Repair" If you find it click on it and follow on screen directions. (you may need your Office installation discs) Reboot and see if the problem has gone. This is an easier route than a complete uninstall then reinstall of Office XP which might ultimately be necessary. Regards paws
