Spyware problem (c2.lop?)

Internet explorer keeps opening advertising windows and there are a load of extra links on the 'favourites' menu that can not be removed. (They are not in the favourites folder under 'Documents and Settings'.) The 'page not found' defaults to an advertising site as well. I think this is after the system was accidentally infected with c2.lop from Messenger plus.

I have repeatedly run Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, Microsoft Defender and ewido anti-malware but none of them have got rid of this problem.

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)

LOP has a bad habit of infecting other user accounts on an XP machine.

If you have other user accounts, can you log on to each one and make/post a HijackThis! log into this thread for inspection?

If you don't remove it from all user accounts, it will eventually worm it's way back to this one.

If you have no other users accounts, then you're "good to go".

Your Java needs updated:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe

The latest version out is jre1.5.0_07

After updating you must remove previous versions via "Add/Remove Programs".

The only other accounts are the Administrator and Guest accounts that are created automatically. We have never logged onto them. Should I still inspect them?
