Help me please. An unauthorized searchpage takes over for my homepage. Even when I change it back( I have it stored in my favourites) the "bad one" comes back as soon as I click my home button or very time I reboot. Everything seems to take longer to load as well.
Download hijackthis to its own folder C:/HJT for example. Extrat the zip file to that folder. Then close all browseer windows, open hijackthis and click on scan. Once the scan has completed click on Save Log, this will produce a text file log. Highlight all of the information from in that text box then right click and copy. Come back to this post you made and click on "add reply" at the bottom right and a new window will open. Paste the hijackthis log into the new window hit add reply in that new window.

Hi! Siggyx, thanks for answering my cry for help. Since yesterday, somehow I lost a dll file. Therefore I was unable to reopen Highjack This. I had to delete it and then I tried to do a system restore, but I couldn't do that either because there were no restore points. This makes no sense since I am on my computer every day. I am now getting notifications that my homepage is changing from the one I want to searchingall.com and do I want to continue? Very strange goings on. Thanks for listening. ppamama
First click here>>> http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm to download LSPFix.

Extract the program from the zip file and run it, make sure you click the "I know what I'm doing" button. Select mkls.dll and using the right-pointing 'arrows' and move all instances of mkls.dll
it mentions to the Remove (RHS) side but leave everything else (it might already be over there when you open LSPFix). Click the 'Finished' button (if you exit with the X at top right nothing happens).

REBOOT to complete the task.

Please download Asquared from the link below.

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/download/

Safe it to your desktop. Next open and check for updates.

Boot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads)

Then scan your system (this will take some time) after the scan is compelte allow it to fix what it has found. If there is something that it can not clean please let me know what it was.

Then reboot and post a new hijackthis log.
Hi! Siggyx,
Ppamama here.
I am pretty sure I followed your directions properly. At the end you told me to reboot and then send a new Hijack This log. So here it is.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:

http://www.ewido.net/en/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
Hi! Siggyx, the ewido.net that you asked me to download is only good for Windows 2000 and up. I only have Windows ME, so it wouldn"t load. Thanks. Ppamama

Hi! Siggyx, ppamama here. Thank you so much for your help. I have my homepage back and cleaned out a lot of "bad stuff" as well. My computer is working faster, too. I will definitely recommend Hijack This to all my friends. With gratitude, ppamama.
