I have already posted my hjt log and am waiting for reply.
how ever I have no idea where this problem is coming from.
so heres the problem.
any sound from flash is normal except it is very low.
sound from my media players volume is normal, but the voice and some other aspects of the sound is distorted.
when ever i open my browsers IE or FF i faintly hear a commercial radio station.
this problem has (for no reasons i can find ) just disapeared for a few hours to a week only to return again.
the radio station thing seems to cause the interference but i dont know where it is coming from so i cant stop it.
the radio station does not go a way when i close my browser it just disappears eventually, sometimes this means my sound is normall again, usually not.
my speakers are crapy but the problems vary in a way that it does s not seem like this should be the problem or is it that simple.
any advice would be better than none, please help!
This is only my second post on this forum, so I hope that the mods don't consider that I am "advising" you as far as any software modifications, which I ain't about to do!
Can you tell if the station is AM or FM? Most RFI (radio frequency intereference) is from AM transmissions, and the speaker leads seem to be the most common source for the inducted signals.
Does moving the speaker affect the reception? That would pretty much pin down the problem to the speakers. Make sure that all your connections are full and tight, and that all the screws on your case are tight. Dress any long wires to the shortest possible length, but don't coil 'em; weave 'em back and forth into a neat, flat bundle and use cable ties (or string or rubber bands!) to hold them.
Feel for bumps along the speaker cables (don't let people see you doing this, however – you might get strange looks), these would indicate the presence of ferrite beads, which serve to change the impedence of you wires. You can also pick up a ferrite coil (Radio Shack, Tandy, etc.) and wrap a few turns of you speaker lines near the amp end.
I hope that this will help with the problem; if nothing else, it might keep you busy until a real expert happens along!
