Hello davidned, I see illukka just cleaned your computer for you on Nov 4, 2005? He also gave you some important information to help you stay clean, and here you are back with a load of junk? Did you bother to read and use the information illukka provided?
I will clean out the junk again but you must go back to the information he provided here: http://forums.tomcoy...showtopic=49194 and use it!!!
Before I start, I wish to say that the bad stuff does not make noise, if you are experiencing noise it is more than likely hardware related and I would return to the other computer problems and ask about those noises.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp.../search/ie.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.bonzi.com...uddyfreedbl.asp
(next line, if you know it is not bad you may leave it)
O16 - DPF: {0D432806-1130-4588-B436-9294A427FC86} (SecCheck Class) - http://seccheck.myne.../AXSecCheck.cab
O19 - User stylesheet: (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

If you use Adobe, there is a new version 7.0
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\

Post another log for a last check, review illukka's information and here is some from me: Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

OK, then follow the instructions I posted, including the instructions to ask the folks in Other Computer Problems. The noise may go on for a long time or some piece of hardware, like the hard drive or an fan may be about to go. See what those folks think. They may be able to help you pinpoint the problem? Post a new log once you finish removing the adware I listed, and let me know how the computer is running. Thanks...Phil

OK, thanks for the new log. I had a feeling it was a fan, not to many things that make a noise when they are going. Looking at your HJT log I see this:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IPInSightMonitor 01] "C:\Program Files\SBC Yahoo!\Connection Manager\IP InSight\IPMon32.exe"
http://castlecops.co...plist-1691.html

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Motive SmartBridge] C:\PROGRA~1\SBCSEL~1\SMARTB~1\MotiveSB.exe
http://castlecops.co...plist-5774.html

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
http://castlecops.co...plist-9746.html

O4 - Global Startup: Office Startup.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA.EXE
http://support.micro...om/?kbid=210875
http://www.bleepingc...a.exe-2924.html

Let me say that the above items are not malware, simply items that may not need to run at bootup that may save you some resources. This is your call. You HJT log is clean and I posted some links earlier to help you stay that way.

Here are some other ideas to help improve spped:
