hey there! finely i got place to share my problem! i searched all the web about this maleware how to remove it..some suggest to install spyware and others..but i already installed more than 15 programs! :D !
well…let me tell you what i know about my (usual one) problem: it popups with partypoker.com adultfriends.com casinos ads, and i have now toolbar stucked to my desktop in the button! i cant even close it!! well…i tried alot of ways to delete these malewares…luckly i delete them all, but how? i realy cant know! i used alot of stuff here and there from sites …so iam confused now what to do! well..one thing maybe i know..when i reinstalled messenger plus!! all the problem came back and starts to bother to me! is it possible that msn plus! embeded with maleware? even i downloaded it from www.msgplus.com? well.thats what i can say and thanx in advance for your help!

Hello hungryleo, welcome to the TC.

Messenger plus is full of spyware and adware if you installed it and did not choose the option not to load advertising support.

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove Messenger plus.

You can re-install Messenger plus later, just remember to install without
advertising support.


Please download hoster from the link below.

http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Unzip Hoster.zip
Open Hoster.exe.

Then click on "Restore Original Hosts"

Close program when complete.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

hey ! thanx for your reply…menwhile(after 6 days since the post) i dont have any problems with the popus!
i installed so many programs that why i cant know which of them clean this miss!but now iknow that msgplus ifected! so..how i install it without the ads? i chose only to install without the ads!anyway…i realy like msgplus and i cant remove it…for now! last time i doit …all the stuff come back! my question is..how to disenfect it? or…can i download anormal one without infection?(i downloade from www.msgplus.com) .
i gonna post my hijack for this time…if you can, take alook and tell me if their is any thing wrong! thanx in advance

I suggest you do this:


Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.


Go to: Start > Run > type " services.msc ", then click OK

Scroll down to the NTBOOTMGR service.

Click it to highlight it, then and select: Properties
Select and set "Service Status" option to "Stop"
Select: "Startup type" and set it to "Disabled", click Apply, then OK.

Go to task manager and stop the following process if running:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DRIVER\ntuser.exe


search for and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DRIVER\ntuser.exe<<<–file


Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.



Open C:\Windows\Prefetch\ Delete ALL files in this folder.



Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.


Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED PROFILE USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.


Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

hey!
i donbe all what you adviced…but the only thing i cant find ntuser.exe! i searched but canot find ntuser…
anyway…for now i dont have anyproblem with popups!my computer is ok,as i see. but what the problem with msgplus? i can install it or not? is there other official site to download msgplus free of spyware?the only one i have is www.msgplus.com .well……by the way..what is ntuser.exe and what is NTBOOTER? why i have to disable them!i would like to know! :)

By the way..what is ntuser.exe and what is NTBOOTER? why i have to disable them!i would like to know!

The file is missing and not needed.

Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK

Click the Extended tab.

Scroll down until you find NTBOOT or NTBOOTMGR

Click once on the service to highlight it.

Click Stop

Right-Click on the service.

Click on 'Properties'

Select the 'General' tab

Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box

From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'

Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


Next:

Open HijackThis. Click on 'Open the miscellaneous tools section'
Click on 'Delete an NT Service'
Paste in this;

NTBOOT

and click 'OK'

Close HijackThis.




Next:

Please download hoster from the link below.

http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Unzip Hoster.zip
Open Hoster.exe.

Then click on "Restore Original Hosts"

Close program when complete.


Next:

Messenger plus is full of spyware and adware if you installed it and did not choose the option not to load advertising support.

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove Messenger plus.

You can re-install Messenger plus later, just remember to install without
advertising support.

That's not hurting anything, but you can get rid of it if you like:



Backup your Registry…
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run…)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL




Download Registrar Lite from here:

Put it in its own folder. You may want to keep this program. It is an excellent free, registry editor.

Copy and paste the follow text into the address bar, then hit 'Go':
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page=

In the pane on the right are the values associated with that key.
We want to remove this one -> http://C:\WINDOWS\system32\blank.htm

Right click on it, and select delete.
If you get a confirmation question, respond OK then close out the program.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults
Select: Apply, and click OK




If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
