Can't save 'HighjackThis'.

I have some problems with IE6 but when I attempt to tun the above program, where does it supposed to save it's logfile? All I get is the box Windows cannot find LPub.exe;This program is deeded for opening files of type 'LOG File'. OR the same type box will pop up but a small change: Windows cannot find.exe,This program is needed for opening files of type 'URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol'. My problems with IE6 SP1;Q896727;Q837009;q313829 are these: when I click on an underlined text a small square box pops up with the usual sign of something is happening in the upper right hand corner, but nothing does.Until I click 'stop' and hit 'refresh' and boom,the wanted page pops up quickly like it was hiding.This same situation happens when in my email program,'comcast webmail' and hit the 'reply' button,except I get a totally blank box. If I knew how to get a copy of the results of running 'HijackThis' so I could post it,maybe someone could please help sort all this out. I am a totally disabled Vietnam vet,and to wuss out a bit if I may, sitting here in this wheelchair for hours trying to find out for myself what is wrong and try to fix it myself,I develop really bad dayam cramps all across my back and down into my two shot to hell legs(true).So I do hope you guys can help me. John, give this a try:

Go to the folder where you downloaded HijackThis.exe

Look for a file named "hijackthis.log"

on it, choose "Open with" then "Notepad".

See if that works for you.
