AVG 7.0 keeps recognizing the little bugger and removing it, but it still shows up on the next day's autoscan. There had also been a second file with a spybot.HG, but I was able to clean that out by running AVG in safe mode. That didn't work for the dialer. Right now, it is in the file c:_restore\temp\A0280660.cpy file.

Here's my current HT log. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your patience.
Thanks. I will update my version of HT, to be sure. Through a combination of running an AVG scan after restarting in Safe Mode and temporarily turning off the restore function, the Dialer.20 bugger was at last removed. It would appear that it resides in the restore files, so there's something to handling things in that way. Thanks for your assistance anyway, :)
Glad to hear the problem is resolved. :)

I'll leave you with my security recommendations to help better protect the computer.

I suggest that you download these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
ie-spyad - Puts over 12,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

AVG AntiVirus - Free antivirus program if you currently are not using one.
ZoneAlarm - Free firewall program if you currently are not using one.

Here are two very good and free malware scanners:

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4
AdAware SE v1.06
Set-up Instructions for Spybot S&D; and Adaware SE

If you have them already, check to make sure that they are the newest version.

Update these regularly.
