Will need to take this up again tomorrow. Past my bed time. Are there any files in the recycle bin? quarentine?

you had me delete my recycle bin a couple times, so it's empy, and where do i locate my quarentined files?

Beings IE is at least working again, try this once more.

If you download and double click on this small app, it will restore all the default search fuctions for IE.

IE only opens the homepage, so i changed my homepage to that site and it just died and it doesn't nothign with firefox. i do have my windows cd

Let's see if we can restore any corrupt Windows files.

You can use windows sfc (system file checker) You'd need your XP CD to make this work.
Click Start> Run> type sfc /scannow Note the space.
(Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)
