I have done windows update but i'm not sure if service pack 1 has been installed.

Try it again after the below fix.

do you know howcome i always cant do update for the adwares?

No I don't.

I suggest you do this:

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

O8 - Extra context menu item: E&xport to Microsoft Excel - res://C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\Office10\EXCEL.EXE/3000

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

016's ALL. They'll come back if needed,

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove:
Zone Labs
ZoneAlarm

Empty recycle bin
Reboot.

This one is FREE.

Go here and download SyGate Personal Firewall 5.X Basic Firewall
