Click here to download ewido security suite - it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Click here to download Nailfix. Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Click here to download LQfix batch by miekiemoes. Extract it from the zip file to your desktop but again do NOT run it yet.

When you have all three applicactions, reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly - this is normal.

Next open ewido security suite:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin (do not open any folders or open the windows control panel while the scan is in progress).
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.

Then doubleclick LQfix.bat. When finished, restart your computer in Normal Mode.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, find and delete the following:

Reboot again when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here together with the ewido report you saved.

Although you didn't say, I guess you had a problem with Nailfix - I just tried the link I gave you and it didn't work. Redownload it from here and unzip to your desktop:

Reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly - this is normal.

Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

You have a trojan still that morphs each time you reboot, plus a couple of others. In your last log it was:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iecuks] c:\windows\system32\puabqj.exe r

Note the r at the end - that's what to look for. I'll give you instructions based on this filename but immediately before following them, scan with HJT and make sure you get the right filename.

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

c:\windows\system32\puabqj.exe

It will prompt you to reboot, press the NO button. Instead, copy and paste the following and click the 'Delete File' button again:

C:\Program Files\eawb\slue.exe

When it prompts you to reboot this time, press the YES button.

After restarting, with only HijackThis running, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Aurora is back and for some reason you are now running HJT from a zip file. Repeat this:

Check ewido for an update. Reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly - this is normal.

Next open ewido:
  • Click on scanner
  • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin (do not open any folders or open the windows control panel while the scan is in progress).
  • While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a check in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections" then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report.
  • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Hmmm… something is bringing it back. Please disable AOL Spyware Protection completely and reboot. Repeat this again:

Reboot into Safe Mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded. Once in Safe Mode, double-click on Nailfix.cmd.

Rescan with ewido and save the report.

Click Start>Run. Copy & paste the following and click OK.

regsvr32.exe /U skndmail.dll

You should get a message that it has been uninstalled succesfully.

Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Your first instruction is to delete AOL Spyware Protection. I cannot find this file. I don't use AOL. I don't know where to find it or how to delete it??? I tried to follow the file path from the HJT logfile c/program files/common/aol and I could not find it there??? Please help with this first step. Thanks.

Download Process Explorer from http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html

Run Process Explorer and find kfyjmaa.exe (or whatever it is now called - remember the r) in the list of Processes. Select it and click Process > Suspend.

Leave Process Explorer running with the process suspended all the way through this, including at reboot.

Open HijackThis, click Config>Misc Tools>Delete a file on reboot…

In the explorer Window select kfyjmaa.exe

When prompted if you want to reboot click YES.

After the reboot, with only HijackThis running, have it fix:
