Hello,

You have a nice collection here, so let's uninstall most of them.
Go to start > control panel > software and uninstall next programs if still present:

180solutions
Tsa
CxtPls / Apropos Media
BullsEye Network
NewDotNet (New Net)
ISTsvc
Istbar

REBOOT afterwards!

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

After installing AAW, and before running the program.
Please be sure to update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp.net/howto/updref/

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the 'Scanning' button.
Under Drives, Folders and Files, select 'Scan within Archives'.
Click 'Click here to select Drives + folders' and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the 'Advanced' button.
Under 'Log-file detail level', select all options.
Click the 'Tweaks' button.

Under 'Scanning Engine', select the following:
'Unload recognized processes during scanning.'
Under 'Cleaning Engine', select the following:
'Let Windows remove files in use after reboot.'
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.

Run the Ad-Aware scan and allow it to remove everything it finds and then REBOOT to allow it to finish.

Update your Spybot S&D and let it perform a full scan!
Reboot again and post a new hijackthislog.

hi again,

sorry i take so long to reply (i work away from home)

here goes:

the only 2 aplications listed in the uninstall were
bullseye network and newdotnet (which uninstalled ok) but the other 5 dont show, however there was an application called "180 search assistant", i wondered if that was the same as the "180" solutions???

i have downloaded the lavasoft ad-aware with latest update and configured to your settings and run full scan……nearly got 200 of the little blighters.

updated spybot and run scan but no threats were found

here is my new log

Hello, Can you reboot first and post a new hijackthislog afterwards please? Because Adaware isn't finished yet and needs to delete some files after reboot. :)
Anyway, I can already post the next insructions..
So please reboot first if you haven't before.

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi…arch.yahoo.com/

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: ( without networking support !)
°To get into the Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following folder and file and delete them if still present:

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5LP_0001_0715NetInstaller.exe
C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\tsa <== folder

If you can't find C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5LP_0001_0715NetInstaller.exe , perform next:

Go to start > run and type: regsvr32 /u occache.dll
(or copy and paste this in the field in start > run )
Click Ok

Now search and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\UWFX5LP_0001_0715NetInstaller.exe

Go to start > run and type regsvr32 occache.dll
Click OK

* Reboot your system back to normal mode and post a new hijackthislog. :)
hi again,

fantastic! i dont know how you know so much.

your instructions seem to have done the business.

i had to use the START>RUN method to show the file for deletion but it seems to have worked.

after normal re-boot, there was no sign of the "winfixer"

here is my latest log………and thanks again

Hello,

Well, I see a clean hijackthislog. Well done. :)

Perform a full scan with an updated Adaware SE and/or Spybot S&D to get rid of the leftovers.

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

Install Spywareblaster
SpywareBlaster doesn`t scan and clean for so-called spyware, but prevents it from being installed in the first place. It blocks the popular spyware ActiveX controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage.

Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Housecall and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

If you are having XP SP2, read here how to configure Security Features for Internet Explorer:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/…xp/iesecxp.mspx

More info on how to prevent malware you can also find here (By Tony Klein)

Happy surfing again! :)
