Hey there, thumbs up for all the amazing work done by everyone on this forum!

My computer has been behaving quite erratic lately: IExplorer and MSOutlook refuse to close now and then, WindowsExplorer didn't recognize my 2nd harddrive last night, settings for my Creative Soundblaster Audigy get screwed up sometimes, those kind of problems…

I'm in the middle of cleaning my system up, hoping this will resolve a few of those problems. I run and update frequently the following programs: Spywareguard, Spywareblaster, McAfee Virusscan, Spybot S&D, Adaware, Sygate Personal Firewall, CCleaner. Sometimes i pick up a few things, but most of the time nothing gets passed my security.

Just to be sure my "spring-clean" is completely effective i post my HJT log here. Could anyone be so kind to have a look at it?

Hello ganaffe and welcome to TomCoyote forum. You are running some good programs, make sure you keep them updated. I would suggest you add this one: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial53.html These are the programs I run also. Nothing bad is showing in your HJT log. Keep in mind that HJT does not show everything, just where the badguys usually put their junk. If you want a hard look at your computer, try this free trial version of: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=3051
http://russelltexas.com/malware/allclear.htm
http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=14
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topict2520.html

Even though you will not be using it now, I am also concerned with where your HJT is placed. It should not be on a CD or floppy. If E:\ is not a disk, I suggest you move HJT to your C:\ like this: C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe where it can safely store backups if you need to use it.

Thanks…pskelley

Hey pskelley, Thanks for your time/answers. It's good to know the log turns out to be OK. I guess i'm having more serious hardware-related problems then. Yesterday my system crashed completely and I lost one harddrive already (even BIOS doesn't recognize it anymore). I think I should have it checked thoroughly. The store where i bought my computer has some good test & repair facillities so I think I'm gonna bring it in today… Anyways, thanks again for your time & for the links you posted, I'll check them out when my computer comes back to life! Cheers
You are welcome, why don't you try posting here: http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showforum=83 The folks there are very knowledgeable about general troubleshooting issues. Post them a link to this thread and mention it so they can see what happened here. If you do run the Ewido scan, please post the scan results for me so I can take a look.

Cheers…Phil
