Hi! Ive got this very big problem.. Last week my computer suddenly wouldnt load windows. It just displays a BLACK SCREEN after the windows xp loading logo. The monitor seems to be in STANDBY mode after the loading logo. Then thats it, nothing happens it just remains that way… So I decided to format my computer. But the worst thing is after Ive formatted and installed a fresh copy of windows xp on my harddisk, it still fails to boot windows. The only way to load it is through safe mode.. Pls help, I dont know what to do..
Ok so you can boot into safe mode..correct?
If you can boot into safe mode, then sounds like some settings have changed in the BIOS. Have you added any new hardware lately? Do you have integrated video along with an AGP card using the AGP verses integrated? Also list your specs for us if you would. What kind of CPU, How much ram.. etc.
Thanks for the response. I havent added any hardware to my computer. It just suddenly went that way. My computer's specs are: 32mb vga, 128mb RAM, 733 Mhz intel pentium 3 processor, asus motherboard, on-board sound card, 40gb hard disk partitioned into 2 drives. Im not sure if my motherboard has some integrated video on it. Ive installed windows xp on both drives but it still functions that way, black screen after the windows loading logo.. both also runs only in safe mode..
