Alright. So, my computer apparently has lop.com components that just won't go away. I have Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D (and I have tried many other adware removers) but nothing has been able to entirely get rid of it. Spybot seems to have done more, it has managed to get rid of all but one part of the lop each time I ran it. I've had this thing for several weeks now and my computer has become so increadibly slow that we've considered saving the important documents to discs and then wiping the drive clean.
I'm tired of the constant pop-ups and random icons on my desktop.

So here's my log.

Please help me, and if you see anything else that's eating my computer, point it out too.

Thank you,
Raeo
Greetings and welcome to TomCoyote.org!

Important: Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT. MOVE HijackThis into this folder.

If required a tutorial is here = Hijackthis Folder Tutorial

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.mzmpyepwqkvgrsrcyfu.com/Dy7eezN…DB/IX2KvA6.html

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…://my.yahoo.com

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…://my.yahoo.com

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Open Dupe Dog Plan] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ROAM PILE OPEN DUPE\Army trust.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [blehcopy] C:\DOCUME~1\CANDIC~1\APPLIC~1\SECOND~1\bags bias.exe

O16 - DPF: {88D969C0-F192-11D4-A65F-0040963251E5} (XML DOM Document 4.0) - http://ipgweb.cce.hp.com/rdq/downloads/msxml4.cab

Then click "Fix checked".

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Find and delete:

c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\roam pile open dupe <— FOLDER

c:\documents and settings\candi conover\application data\second~1 <— FOLDER
(Unsure of full folder name. Starts with "second")

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

An optional fix. Go to:

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

Remove "Viewpoint Manager" then reboot.

It's considered "spyware" in most circles.
Thank you. :)

Okay, folder created - check. Scan and 6 items removed - check.

However, when I went into safe mode, I couldn't find the folders. There doesn't seem to be an 'application data' folder in either place. I used the computer search and that couldn't find the folders either. And when I rebooted after safe mode, the icons were back on my desktop…

Also, I removed the Viewpoint Manager and the Toolbar, but the bar still shows up on IE… Oo?

Viewpoint Toolbar isn't "spyware". Just Viewpoint Manager.

I see the LOP has returned…. <_<

Let's try a slightly different approach.

Boot in "safe" mode, FIRST.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.lmqrcedstvjpif.com/Dy7eezN_tn6L…1DB/IX2KvA6.htm

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.qhkztddwspgbqethljflgecyx.com/D…Sbga3rMgXw.html

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D3B4658B-913F-B92E-F250-069804BC8B47} - C:\DOCUME~1\CANDIC~1\APPLIC~1\Eqfree\themanager.exe (file missing)

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [blehcopy] C:\DOCUME~1\CANDIC~1\APPLIC~1\SECOND~1\bags bias.exe

Then click "Fix checked".

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Find and delete:

c:\documents and settings\candi conover\application data\second~1 <— FOLDER
(Unsure of full folder name. Starts with "second")

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)
Ah, okay. The toolbar irritates me anyway, so I tried to take it off. It didn't show up this time.

I see what I did wrong the first time. I had, er, unhidden the hidden files before I went into safe mode; I didn't realize that the setting wouldn't follow over.
I found and deleted the second and the dupe folders.
While I was in safe mode, I deleted the missing file in HJT, but the other three didn't show up there. I deleted them in normal mode.

Good job!

The log looks good.

Unless you're having problems, I'd say this hijack is "solved"!

GOD bless!!!

M68 :)

Items you may wish to consider to harden your defenses against future infections:

Read "How did I get infected in the first place?"

Download/install IE-Spyad

IE-Spyad puts over 4000 known malicious web sites into IE's "restricted zone" to help prevent you from getting infected.

Check your browser settings at Qualsys.com

A series of "tests" (and suggested fixes) to help tweak IE's settings to help prevent infections when surfing the web.

Follow safe Internet practices:

1. Keep your virus definitions up to date, and scan your system regularly.

2. Don't open email, or download attachments from unrecognized email addresses.

3. Be careful when downloading email attachments, EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW! Many virii, worms, and trojans infect a persons system then immeadiately spread themselves to the people in the infected persons addressbook via email attachments.

4. Be careful downloading files from the Internet. Scan all downloaded files with a reliable UP-TO-DATE antivirus program. Scan "zip" files BEFORE unzipping, and scan all unzipped files BEFORE USING THEM.

5. Keep your Windows and IE current with all the latest patches and updates.
