Hello….my laptop wont start message reads: the following files are missing or corrupted…\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of this file.
I was using EasyCleaner to clean some registry files etc so maybe that's what caused it.
Also laptop was getting a lot of messages about registry needing repair so maybe it is related to that.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your help.
Alex
Get your Windows 2000 installation cd and put it in then boot. When it asks you to "press any key to boot from cd" … do so. Follow the instructions as if you were going to install 2k, it will give you the option to "Repair" the version of windows you have.. You can do it manually using the repair console or I believe you have the option with 2k of choosing to repair it automatically.. that is what I would choose. If you know where the file is on the cd, and were it goes on your comp.. then you can do it manually.
