Below is my scan log. I have ran Xsoftspy, Spybot and Ad-Aware SE, System Mechanic and Norton's Virus. My simptoms are upon startup my normal home page begins to open, then a second Porn page opens on top of the original home page. After I close the porn page all is OK for about 5 to 10 minutes, then another window with a different porn page will open. I also have had Adult Dating, Credit Cards, Free Stuff, Games, Get Cash Fast and Health folders added to my Favorites list. I delete these, but they come back. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Jcol and welcome to TomCoyote. :wavey:

Step 1
Open HijackThis, run a scan, then check the following:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.gophersearch.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.gophersearch.com/
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.gophersearch.com/

Optional items to check with HijackThis.
Check these also if you do not use PartyPoker.
O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyPoker\PartyPoker.exe

With all other programs and browsers closed, click fix checked.

Step 2
Please delete the following folder:

C:\Program Files\PartyPoker << Only if fixed above

Step 3
Download this file to your desktop. Right-click and select….. Save Target As….Save.
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select Install.

Note : Since the Domains are deleted SpywareBlaster protection must be re-enabled, Spybot's Immunize feature must be used again, and you'll also have to re-install IE-SpyAd if installed.

Step 4
Reboot normally and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log as a reply to this thread.
Please let us know of any complications you had and how the computer is behaving.
Thanks very much alsocom for the help. I was on holidays last week, so I didn't have a chance to try your suggestions till today. I followed all of the steps that you posted and my computer now is working normally again,, no more porn pages popping up. BTW I do use Party Poker so I skipped those steps. Below is my fixed log. Again thanks for your help. Jcol

Your new log appears clean. :)

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove bad files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected.)

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. On the System Restore tab, put a check mark in the 'Turn Off System Restore' check box.
3. Click OK, and then click Yes.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 2, this time clearing the box beside 'Turn Off System Restore', click 'OK'.

MOST IMPORTANT: You Need to Update Windows and IE to get all the Latest Security Patches to protect your computer from the malware that is on the internet.
I recommend going to the following link and update to SP2. This adds more security and extra features including a pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer.
Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer Updates

Here is a great link that explains the procedure for updating to SP2 with less complications (scroll down to the second post).

I suggest that you get these programs to help keep the computer clean:

Spyware Blaster - Blocks bad ActiveX items from installing on your computer. Spyware Blaster runs silently in the background.
SpywareGuard - Real-time protection from spyware installation attempts
ie-spyad - Puts over 8,000 bad URLs into your restricted sites for Internet Explorer.
Google Toolbar - Blocks many unwanted pop-ups in Internet Explorer.
Firefox - 'Safer' alternative to the Internet Explorer web browser.

Update these regularly.

You may also want to read "How did I get infected in the first place" to learn how to better secure your computer.

Be sure to keep Windows and your Anti-virus updated.
