Welcome to the forum.

I don't see any malware on the system, just clean this one up…

Close ALL programs down, leaving ONLY HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/3092b46262e1d5…ip/RdxIE601.cab

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

and check these……

Delete all files in these folders.(if they exist)
C:\documents and settings\(your name)\local settings\temp
C:\documents and settings\(anyone)\local settings\temp
C:\windows\temp
C:\Temp

Empty recycle bin.

Here's what they say on their site:

Occasionally we receive inquiries from users who do not understand why they have accessed our site. Please be advised that you are not reaching our site as a result of spyware. We are not exactly sure why you have been directed here, however, we believe it is a result of the autosearch feature of Internet Explorer. If a site entered into the address bar cannot be accessed, Explorer apparently appends ".org" to the name and then tries to access that site. In the case of a search ending in .com, Explorer thus accesses our domain, "com.org." If you wish to turn off this behavior, we think it can be successfully accomplished by doing the following:

1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options".
2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
3. Under "Search from the Address Bar", select "Do not search from the Address bar".
4. Click "OK".
5. You may need to restart your computer.

Please note that this does not solve the problem of why you could not access the original search term, and if that site is still not accessible (due to DNS problems, a server being down, network problems, a typographical error, etc.) you should now receive an error that the page cannot be displayed.

See if any of that helps, MrC
Mr C, Excellent, that seems to have done the trick. :) Btw, what the sites that profits from the redirects suggests as a fix does NOT seem to have any effect. I tried it before I posted on the forum. I would not bet on their innocence here. Thanks again! :wavey: B
Glad it worked ;)

Don't open e-mail attachments without first scanning them with an up-to-date
anti virus program, even after doing that I would be very careful. Don't click on any executables in e-mails or any other links that you're not sure of.
Watch your surfing habits, don't click on or download anything you're not sure of. Don't install a program that hasn't been recommended by a reputable organization.

Good luck and thanks for using the forum - MrC
