Open notepad and copy and paste next content in the field in it:

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\fqsynkgf]

The above Registry file was written specifically for this infection on this person's computer. It is NOT to be used on another computer, as it may cause damage that could result in a format.

Save this as Qfix.reg choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you to add the content to the registry, click yes/ok

I ran l2mfix earlier (replies 10 and 11 in this thread) and have rebooted numerous times since then (the computer is typically turned off each night). When the system is booting up, I believe the l2mfix batch file, second.bat, is generating some error messages but not doing anything. Should I remove the O4 line with second.bat with HijackThis? Doug

Everthing looks good. Ad-watch is apparently just catching some minor cookies, and there is no indication of problems with pop-ups. Looks to me like we've gotten the system cleaned up. Thanks for all the help. Regards, Doug
