A variety of spyware and other junk has invaded my system, and I can't seem to remove the stuff. I've posted the HJT log (done in normal mode) below.

Thanks,
Doug

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us/easyfile/file.php?sho…050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

The above Registry file written by miekiemoes, Swandog and racooper was written specifically for this infection and is not to be used on any other infection as it could damage a person's PC

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly — this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the log from the scan to your Desktop. IMPORTANT! Lately more people choose “Ignore” during the scan, but you’ll have to click/choose “Clean” or “Quarantine”! Otherwise the whole fix will result in a failure.

Then please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check (if there):

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode, make a new HijackThis log and post it here, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
I followed the directions as you gave them including fixing the F2 line found by HijackThis during the scan in safe mode. The Ewido scan log from safe mode and the HijackThis scan from normal mode are given below.

Thanks,
Doug

::Report End
It seems something went not right during the fix. The malware it's supposed to fix is still present in your log. Please do the fix again and post a new HJT log.
Here is an updated log. The fix on the first time had apparently removed nail.exe. I've been running Ad-watch from lavasoft which was apparently resetting the registry so it appeared that nail.exe was still around even when it wasn't. I've turned off Ad-watch and will leave if off until we've removed the other problems.

Hi,

Good job on turning off Ad Watch. It was indeed blocking the fix.

* Go to Start – Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs and uninstall:
- AFA Internet Enhancement

1. Download Killbox and save it to your desktop.
Doubleclick Killbox.exe located on your desktop.
Select the option "Delete on reboot".

Now copy the next bold:

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint
C:\WINDOWS\System32\pacis.exe
C:\WINDOWS \system32\yoicqm.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\exp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nsvsvc
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vidctrl
C:\PROGRA~1\VBouncer
C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe
C:\Program Files \180searchassistant
C:\WINDOWS \system32\elitegfv32.exe
C:\Program Files\WeirdOnTheWeb
C:\WINDOWS\system32\L91309.Stub.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wintask.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\2bp10h3c.exe
C:\WINDOWS \system32\jqltibn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msshed32.exe
C:\Program Files\Cas
C:\Program Files\CasStub
C:\WINDOWS\system32\IDM32.DLL

Open 'file' in the killboxmenu on top and choose Paste from clipboard

Now you will see, this is pasted in the "Full Path of File to Delete"-field.
There's a little arrow (dropdown-arrow) next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines must be there together!

Then press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot.. Click YES
When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click NO

2. Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your HijackThis.exe there, and run it from there in the future ;)

3. Run HijackThis (“Do a system scan only”). Put a checkmark near these lines:

4. Close all other windows and browsers, and hit Fix Checked.

5. Reboot twice (in order to kill the "killboxed" files good), make a new HijackThis log, and post it here :)
The only hitch I had in following the instructions was that I didn't find "AFA Internet Enchancement" in the list of programs to add/remove. Otherwise, things seem to be improved.

Thanks,
Doug

You probably have VX2 on your computer. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!
Did as you've asked. The logs follow.
