Hello Joe, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. :) The only thing I see in this log is this:
C:\zipitpro\ZipItFast.exe see what CA spyware information center has to say: http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/pest/pe…px?id=453090779
I would reconsider this software if I were you. Now let me point out that you are running Selective Startup in MSCONFIG and there may be malware hiding that I can not see as a result of that. If you would like to "Enable All" scan and post a new log, then you can return to Selective Startup. Post that new log in this same thread and I will see if anything is revealed by it.

Thanks…pskelley

Hi Joe, Thanks for the new log. Here is another bad program: AdwareAlert running here:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdwareAlert] C:\Program Files\AdwareAlert\AdwareAlert.Exe -boot Here is some information about that program: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/A….Exe-10412.html
Here is the list so you can check in the future to avoid this junk: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm Since we have started, I will help you a little to see if we can clean you up. Follow these directions:

1) Use this link: to download, then update and configure the programs as in the instructions: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php If you have either, follow through anyway as both have recently released new versions.

2) Download this free trial version, run it according to the instructions. Have it fix what it finds and post the log for me.
Ewido trojan scanner: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
  3. From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack….
  5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
  6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread

  7. 3) Download and use the default settings to run CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/ and clean out anything it locates.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdwareAlert] C:\Program Files\AdwareAlert\AdwareAlert.Exe -boot

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
    http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

    C:\Program Files\AdwareAlert\ >>> folder

This item seems to be running from your Prefetch folder, so do this:
Locate C:\Windows\Prefetch folder and open it. Delete the contents of the folder (NOT THE FOLDER) if there are many choose Edit then Select all then Delete. You may not be able to remove them all, don't be concerned unless any have the name of the items we need to remove. Here is some information about the Prefetch for you:
    http://techrepublic.com.com/5100-6270-5165773.html
    http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1683520,00.asp

If you have not already done so you may return to Selective Startup in MSCONFIG and uncheck the ones you don't allow at Startup. This way I can point out if there is anything you should uncheck when I look at your next log.
On that note, post the Ewido scan log and a new HJT log along with your coments.

    Thanks…pskelley

Thanks, Reviewing my logs…. and For the afternoon full of work…
Just kidding, but it did take some time

Ahhh…Joe, but don't you fell so much better having watched all of that junk come off of your computer. :)

I did not edit the MSCONFIG. Everything is on… I was just trying to shut stuff off to try and figure out what was causing the problems…

I would return to MSCONFIG now, no reason to start programs you don't use and can start manually when you do need them. Here are some links that will allow you to decide if any you are unsure of can be turned off:

Please remember Ewido is for a trial period and it looks like it made backups of the bad stuff. After a few days you should purge that junk from backups. Both Ad-aware and Spybot make backups, quarantine and restore.

Since you log is clean, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

Since you appear clean of malware, if the symptoms you described still exist, I suggest you post here: http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?showforum=83
Perhaps someone there can help.

Safe Surfing Joe

Thanks…pskelley
