Hi there,

I have a new ASUS Laptop Intel 4 2.6 GH (XP) and after some time I am facing lately problems as:

When going on the internet (I use the laptop just at home with a normal modem connection) the system idle process goes down after some minutes to something like 49, the processor is starting to work very loud and the system gets very slow and instable. Often webpages can not be shown no more or the whole explorer has to be shut down. Same happens when working in outlook online. The system tray when then opened is only shown often at the short icon list on the bottom right of windows and can not be popped up.

The svchost.exe system process is when everything starts jumping up to something like 50 which is causing the system problems (I guess).

Also I have the feeling that the speed is generally worse then before that problem has occured the first time when I am offline.

I have run adaware, spysubstract, several virus scans and deleted all suspects - didnt help. I have done a regclean too.

I am now at the end of my (very small) knowledge how to fix that thing. I would be very grateful if someone could give me a hint how to fix that problem. concerning the log: the Aon stuff refers to my Austrian internet provider.

thanks a lot in advance!!!

martin

You will need to didsable Teatimer and SpySubtract or it will block the fixes.

You still have a few viruses present

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.
hi,

i deactivated sbysubstract and the sbybot resident. then i installed and updated ewido. when restarting in safe mode teatimer and spysubstract are not loaded. ewido removed 8 infections. then i started in normal mode and deactivated spysubstract and the spybot resident before making the new hijack this log. should i generally uninstall sbysubstract and sbybot as long as we are fixing the system or manually stop the processes everytime i start the computer?

following the 2 logs

thanks

martin

hi, problem is that i am in croatia at my second working domicil and i cannot simulate the condition in what the problem usually occured (going to the internet via a standard modem through the aon provider). i connected with the internet through my company lan network and as far everything is looking good. i did not try that before so i dont know if the bug would have generally occured going to the net or has something todo with the 56k connection (what in fact i doubt). I will check that next time i am in austria probably in some days and then post the result here, ok??? thanks in any case till now!!!
