I'm just a dummy and cannot understand the log. Please help me.

The problem:

1- The browser direct me to the other website rather than my company's website.

2- Three computers in my company cannot send mail using Microsoft Outlook (happen just a couple of hours a month, in the last 2 months. I'm sure the mail server is OK since I can still check "webmail" from the server.)

I've tried to scan with Norton Anti Virus (latest updated, full system scan), please help me. Below is the hijack log newest version.

Thank you.

Hello vunguyen, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are still looking for help please follow these instructions in the order posted.

1) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Take the time to review the instructions on the download page so that when I ask you to run it you will know what you are doing.

2) Open Task Manager then the Processes tab. Locate, highlite and end process on this item: C:\WINDOWS\sysupudt.exe

3) This program: C:\PROGRA~1\DAP\DAP.EXE Please see this information: http://castlecops.com/startuplist-7192.html If this is the free version I suggest you uninstall it. If you do it now, I will clean up anything the uninstaller missed.

4) You are running Spy Sweeper, you will need to turn that program off as it will block our HJT fix.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdUpdater] C:\WINDOWS\sysupudt.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

SHOW HIDDEN FILES: Follow the instructions in the link to enable hidden files for your operating system.
You may wish to reverse this process if you have any concern about anyone getting into these hidden system files.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\sysupudt.exe >>> file

Let's check for trojans in case any are hiding, run this free online scan, scan the whole system and set it to clean or fix anything it locates. Let me know what it finds and the exact name and location of anything it locates but can't remove. You may be asked to install an ActiveX, please do so as this program is safe and it can not run without it.
http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

Run CCleaner then restart the computer and post a new log in this same thread along with any feedback you have. Let us know how you are running.

Thanks…pskelley
