I tried contacting Compaq support but I haven't really gotten anywhere with them so I was hoping you guys could help me out. I've been having issues with a laptop I bought about a year ago. This problem has been going on all throughout, beginning with a loss of the file lsass.exe, so I had to reinstall windows and reformat (or maybe not, but I did anyway). Soon after, I had an issue of it locking up on the windows start screen with just a plain "welcome" with the blue screen but it just stayed there forever. So, I reinstalled again and reformatted and this time I also dusted the fan with one of those spray cans which cleared out a lot of dust, and then it happened again about 4 months later. So here I am now, it gave me an error saying something about setting outlook as the default client so I clicked ok and then it just remains on the start screen, so I reinstalled again and it's running fine right now, however I have a feeling it'll soon fall apart. I think this is an issue with the hardware, however I could be wrong. Here are a couple files that contain information on all of my hardware and a scan of possible errors with it, however I don't really know what to do with it, the compaq technicians told me to scan it and send the log file back to them.

Thanks for your time :)
Ok, give us a little more info, like, CPU…RAM.. etc. Also how long is batt. life, does charge completly up and/or does this happen say, only when using battery or does it matter?

The info is in the OUT file, but it's 2.67 Ghz and 1.0 Gb of Ram. I believe the battery life is about an hour and a half, and I don't recall if it happens when it's using the battery or not, could that be a potential problem?
Most definitely,… power is a must when you get upwards of 1.8gb CPU +… but here's what I would do in the mean time. I would put your install cd in.. click on start … run…. type SFC /scannow and let windows check itself out (SFC - System File Checker). That will replace/fix/restore any damaged system files.. Next I would do some checking around on that power supply. If the fan went out.. or is going out.. then you MUST get that fixed and I would suggest ASAP.
