Well i get blue screen backround that wont go away, i followed the guide given to another poster with this same problem, which involved using Shredder, then search & Destroy, followed by ad-aware, then 2 full long virus scans.

I did another scan with each program and its not detecting anything more but i still cant seem to get rid of the blue screen, and ive tried everything i can think of. Any suggestion/help much appreciated.

Please read these instructions carefully - print them.

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs, if found:

Security IGuard
Virtual Maid
Search Maid

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

Do this so you can see hidden files and folders - click here to download xphidden.zip. Extract xphidden.reg from the zip file and save it to the desktop. When done, double click the xphidden.reg and when asked to merge say yes.

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Select the Delete on reboot option.

In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the 'Delete File' button (red circle with a white X) after pasting:

C:\wp.exe

It will prompt you to reboot, press the NO button. Instead, copy and paste the following and click the 'Delete File' button again:

C:\wp.bmp

When it prompts you to reboot this time, press the NO button again and repeat the process on all these files until the last one has been entered then press the YES button:

If you recieve an error message "PendingRenameOperation…." and your computer doesn't restart, please restart it manually.

While your computer is restarting, tap the F8 key continually until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter. Using Windows Explorer navigate to the following folders and delete them:

C:\Program Files\Search Maid
C:\Program Files\Virtual Maid
C:\Windows\System32\Log Files
C:\Program Files\Security IGuard

Reboot into normal mode.

Click here to download and install Registrar Lite. Double click the purple Registrar Lite icon on your desktop. Copy the line below and paste it into the "Address" field (located at the top) of the program:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

Click the "Go" button and it will take you into the "Policies" folder. Locate the "System" folder (in the right panel), if found, right-click on the System folder and go to Delete

Be very careful that you only delete the System folder that is inside the Policies folder.

Reboot your computer again.

Download the Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

Download this file to your desktop. Click HERE. Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Click here to download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder and doubleclick on sss.exe. Check the boxes under the 'Items to Clear' tab and click 'Clear Selected Items'. You will be prompted to reboot, do so. Repeat for all log-in accounts on your computer.

Post a new HiJackThis log here when done.

Thanks for the help guys but i got so fed up i just wiped everything and started over, such a suprise to see my computer load in under 10 mins lol. thanks again
