can anyone help – my dvd rom and cd burner icons have disappeared from my computer window and i cannot use them they do not appear on the hardware manager list?? but the dvd-rom is listed in the bios setup as the secondary slave(liteon dvd-rom ltd16). any suggestions regards gerry tracey
hi, you might try this if you are comfortable opening your case: first touch the case with the computer on (to discharge static electricity from yourself) shut down computer, unplug it, turn off main switch on back of case. oppen case. unplug the power cables to the cd and dvd drives as well as the IDE ribbon to each of the drives. reboot computer. shutdown computer once more and plug power cables back in to each drive and connect IDE ribbon cables to each drive. reboot computer
