Hello,

I have ran Ad-Aware and Spybot several times but it still is not helping. Even removed some stuff with Hijacthis, but after a few days, they seem to be back on my computer.

This log is from right after I start my computer after running Ad-Aware and Sbybot, and restarting. I get a Error message everytime I start my computer

SysCheckBop32
Runtime error "13":
Type Mismatch

Anyway, I would appreciate if someone would take a look at my log and give me some advice. Thanks :)

Hi,

1. Go to Start - Run and type:
services.msc
Hit Enter.

Scroll down to the list and check if the service "Wintools for IE Service" is present - if yes:

Double-click the service, then on the next screen, click the Stop button if available and change the Startup Type to Disabled, then hit Apply, Ok.

2. Go to Start – Control Panel – Software and try to uninstall:
- Wintools

3. Download this tool: http://home.filternet.nl/~hansp21/LQFix.bat
Unzip it to your Desktop.
Don't use it yet!

IMPORTANT! Reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 frequently during bootup, and run the tool.

Reboot into normal mode, make a new HijackThis log, and post it here :)
OK. :)

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers real-time protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
I also suggest that you delete your Temp folders regularly. Use CleanUp! to do this automatically for you!
