Help Please? System Hijacked...

My system has been hijacked and now, whenever I try to visit pages like Hotmail or Yahoo, when I sign in or search, the new page will start loading when it'll suddenly switch to a Windows search engine page, lots of dialogue boxes telling me that I've been infected with SpyWare and hijacked will start popping up together and I won't be able to continue with my work as the page-switching thing prevents me from getting to the pages I want. The computer's also become really slow as it's busy processing all that Spyware activity now. Any advice on which to delete?

Hello heeheeitzmoi , welcome to the TC.

Download FxAgentB.exe from http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxAgentB.exe and save it to your desktop. After downloading, double-click the FxAgentB file to run it and the program will scan your entire hard drive - this may take a while. When it is done, it will generate a log file called FxAgentB.log - save that information as you will need to paste it here later. Reboot when done.

Next click http://www.soft32.com/download-CWShredder-19014-5.html to download CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom and run it, hit 'fix' as opposed to 'scan only'. If you already have CWShredder, click 'Check for update' and make sure you are running version 2.12 . Reboot when done.

Then click http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ to download Ad-Aware SE and install. Before scanning click on "check for updates now" to make sure you have the latest reference file. Click "Start", select "Perform Full System scan" and "Next" to start the scan. When the scan is finished, the screen will tell you if anything has been found, click "Next". The bad files will be listed, right click the pane and click "Select all objects" - this will put a check mark in the box at the side, click "Next" again and click "OK" at the prompt "# objects will be removed. Continue?".

Reboot when done, rescan with HijackThis and post a new log here, together with the FxAgentB log.
Er….when I ran the FxAgentB program, after scanning, it just said that FxAgentB was not found on my computer…Got stuck there…:( But my com's getting better now. Norton AntiVirus finally detected the Trojan and fixed it, it seems. Still popups everywhere and whatnot but at least I'm not being redirected

Thanks for taking the time ^_^
I suggest you do this:

Run HijackThis again and put a check by these.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://c:\windows\TEMP\se.dll/sp.html

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/…//www.yahoo.com

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O19 - User stylesheet: C:\WINDOWS\Web\oslogo.bmp (file missing)

O19 - User stylesheet: (file missing) (HKLM)

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove.
Check all boxes except compress old files (If listed)
7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Less spyware popups now. No redirects or anything too. My computer speed is definitely faster than before. ^_^ Thanks a lot! :D
Good Job

Log looks good :D  How is it running any issues?

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
