My Norton keeps picking this file up. It says it's in Windows/Downloaded Program Files/bridge.inf

I have opened the folders, and I don't see it. I used Adware SE and SpyBot S&D, along with my antivirus, none will remove it. I even looked on google and found registry keys that it would have put on my computer, but can't find those either. Here is my log, thanks in advance for your help.

Wow that's a lot of stuff. Sorry.
Hello BigSteve-E-, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. If you are still looking for help, please follow these directions.

1) This is your HJT.exe: Desktop\HijackThis.exe. If the exe does not have a folder around it then click on a blank spot, make a NEW FOLDER called HJT and move the HJT.exe and any logs on the Desktop into that folder.

2) Looking at this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSetMgr.exe
C:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcagent.exe it appears you are running two antivirus program at the same time. This is poor policy as conflictions can create a situation where you are less protected that if you ran one good program and maintained it properly. Please take steps to address this situation.

3) I see items that may indicate CoolWebSearch. I wish to run CWShredder to let us know if it is present. Download, update and then FIX. Allow it to run and let me know if it located anything.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Popu…WShredder.shtml

4) I have located two hostile Downloaded Program Files (ActiveX), I will remove them all. Any that are valid, you be prompted to download them again the very next time you visit the site. I would avoid the sites coded red.

5) Scan with HijackThis and check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked" Empty the recycle bin and reboot the computer. Staying in this same thread post a new log along with any comments you think we should have.

One other thing. I downloaded the new Microsoft AntiSpyware program, and it had gotten rid of bridge.inf I guess no antispyware/adware removal program can do everything. Some people say to just use the Microsoft one, Adaware SE, and Spybot. What do you think?
Hello BigSteve-E-, I will try to answer your questions first:

I'm running mcafee spyware program and norton anitvirus. I'm not running mcafee virus protection.

Thanks for this information, I have used McAfee AV for many years but I am not familiar with that item. I can also say that while the jury is still out, many knowledgeable folks believe an excess of running spyware programs might also create conflicts?

Thanks for the info about CWS, glad I am that this infection was not onboard. Your feedback helps me in my efforts to recognize signs for the infection. I suggest you tuck the tool away on the C:\CWS, update it once in a while and hope you never need it. Some bad variations block you from downloading the tool.

One other thing. I downloaded the new Microsoft AntiSpyware program, and it had gotten rid of bridge.inf

Like I said, you did have two DPF items that showed as hostile with my tools, it is interesting to hear that Microsoft AntiSpyware fixed it. The product is still in the Beta stage as far as I know, I have not tested it so do not suggest it to folks until it clears Beta. I hope it turns out to be a real asset, we need all of the tools we can get.

I guess no antispyware/adware removal program can do everything. Some people say to just use the Microsoft one, Adaware SE, and Spybot. What do you think?

Until more testing is done, and reports of issues (search Google) especially false positive, I will not suggest Microsoft AntiSpyware. Now this could change in the future. There are some really good products available, but the best preventative is called the computer user. Many folks download a product and never update it again, and then wonder why they get infections.

Here are what I suggest and I have additional information from some experts I will post for you when I am sure your log is clean. All are free and include great tutorials provided by BleepingComputer.com.
