Upnp - Do I Really Need This?

Hi all - WinME I have UPNP and I don't know that I really need it. I have read about it, but, not really sure if it is somehow related to WinME or other that I need to have it installed. I would truly appreciate any information or suggestions on this. Best regards, Tink
