I don't know what happened to my computer and I was wondering if anyone out there could help me. It would be deeply appreciated! My computer keeps shooting up all these pop-ups every 10-20 seconds. I ran SpySweeper and SpyBot but both didn't resolve the problem. I tried doing some research online about it, but only found that the miraclesearch.com pop-up is somehow related to 'elitebar', which isn't even installed on my computer. The two main pop-ups are titled: "http://searchmiracle.com…" and "http://ads1.revenue.net". I even tried installing the Google toolbar, but it didn't help either. I use Mozilla Firefox, but noticed that all the pop-ups are coming through Internet Explorer. I ran HijackThis; here is the log:

Thank You!
Hello tiki_pet, welcome to the TC. The first thing you need to do is remove Kazaa Lite. If you are willing to do that, after removing it. Empty Recycle Bin Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment
Hello, sorry about the late reply. I went home for spring break and we don't have the internet down there. Anyways, here is my new HijackThis log. I deleted Kazaa Lite from my computer and restarted it.

Also, you wanted me to let you know how my computer was doing at the moment. Well I have been online for about three minutes and I have already recieved 4 pop-ups, one from http://ads1.revenue.net…, two from http://searchmiracle.com, and one from www.partypoker.com. I'm not sure why they keep coming up. I don't know if it would help anything, but when I disconnect from the internet, they never show up. As I wrote these last few sentences, two more pop-ups have come up from http://searchmiracle.com.

I appreciate the help very much…thank you!
http://castlecops.com/postitle107538-0-0-&…000a6e3c45e3eb4

Guess they didn't fix it after all

I suggest you do this:

Important: Do this before any fix.

Please put your HijackThis in it's own folder, (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT).
You can do a Right Click on any open area on the desktop, New> Folder, then rename the folder HJT.

Go to where your HijackThis is and Right Click on HijackThis.exe, select Cut, then open the new folder you just created (HJT) Right Click in the folder and select paste.

The reason we do this is Hijackthis creates backup files just in case you'd need to restore one and we'll be cleaning out the temp files.

After the above:

Run HijackThis again and put a check by these.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart your computer.

Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen.
Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Search for and delete these files if listed:
iismeui.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ANTIVIRUS.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnet.exe
C:\windows\system32\elitetzn32.exe

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY Listed Profile USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

P.S. What happened with Castle Cops worked until I restarted my computer, then the pop-ups just kept coming back ha ha, I should have figured with my luck.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these.

Be sure to get these free programs. I don't see a Anti-Virus in your log.

Good Job

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D
Thank you so much for all your help. I really do appreciate all the time and effort you put into helping me. My computer is running smooth as ever, although, when I went to play midi files through fruityloops, there was no sound. But it's no problem, I just reinstalled the program and it is working again. There are no pop-ups and just to make sure that they aren't still lingering, I restarted my computer numerous times and not one pop-up. I will definitly download the programs you recommended. I do not want this to happen over and over. Once again, thank you so much! - Julian
