Getting Rid Of Xp Balloon Tips

Probably old news by now, but maybe of some help to new users. This should get rid of those Windows XP "balloon tips" for those who are not interested in seeing them and do not know how to shut 'em off. Try this (although it may only work on XPPro?) START > RUN > GPEDIT.MSC > USER CONFIGURATION > ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES > START MENU AND TASKBAR > FIND REMOVE BALLOON TIPS ON START MENU ITEMS > CHECK ENABLED > OK

Just download and double click and allow it to merge into the registry. Works for XP Home, not sure about XP Pro. MrC
