I have a friend's computer which is absolutely riddled with spyware. I have run Adaware, Spybot and Spysweeper all with latest updates. It still has several different instances of spyware/toolbars coming up. Also:
- Spybot has an error when scanning win.ini. This win.ini file is corrupt and can't be edited/deleted.
- windows update claims to finish, but does not actually install the updates
- Hijack this closes as soon as you open it
- regedit also closes as soon as you open it.

I know its not ideal, but here is a hijack this log from safe mode.

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Delete These Files
libsysmgr.exe
syslog32.exe
WinNTinit32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\eicrptht.exe
C:\WINDOWS\zeta.exe

Use Add/Remove Programs and remove these.
180solutions
Windows TaskAd

1. Open My Computer
2. Right click on your hard drive that you wish to clean (C drive, for example)
3. In the context menu that opens, select properties
4. Under the general tab you should select Disk Cleanup
5. Windows will scan your drive which will take a few seconds/minutes
6. A box will display the various files you can remove.
Check all boxes except compress old files (If listed)
7. Click OK and windows will comply.

Restart your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
Thanks for the reply! Sorry for my tardiness in replying, I was checking my last 10 posts, not realising that it didn't show other people's replies.

I followed your suggestions + ran trend online scan and Norton AV which incidently is now working. I also installed google's toolbar as the popups were driving me insane.

Here is the latest log.

How we lookin?
Sorry guys, the owner of the computer needed it back. Norton AV is working fine now though, and SP2 has installed without a hitch. Looks to be all clear. Thanks for your fine assistance. Scotty
