Something is going on. Adaware returns 3 critical items (2 RegKeys & 1 Reg file) after system reboot called "BrowserAid". Tried everything to manually remove it but it reappears after every reboot. Suspect BrowserPal is reloading at startup.

Leaving computer on after getting the log file below.

Thanks in advance.

Hello volk, Welcome to TomCoyote forum, let's clean up a little and see where we are.
http://computercops.biz/startuplist-5621.html (information for you)
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/BrowserAid.html (More info so you will know what you are up against)

Removal: This is suggested in the above information, do this first, after you use Add Remove Programs empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Some of the junk may no longer be in the HJT log at that point, but I will include it all in the removal just in case. Thanks.

Open the Control Panel's 'Add/Remove Programs' function. There should be an entry for 'BrowserAid' or 'CashToolbar' (CashToolbar variant), 'Web Toolbar' (ABCSearch variant) or 'BrowserPal' (BrowserPal variant). (Remove anything there)

For your information, if you wish this removed, use Add Remove programs to do that.
http://computercops.biz/startuplist-388.html

I can't see running Antivirus software, unless it is part of this: SystemSuite Task Manager. If that is the case, great, if not here are three free antivirus programs to choose from, I would install one of them right away.

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/index.c…582BE49AF2FC446

I also do not see a firewall, if a firewall is not included in the above program, here are two free ones to choose from:

http://smb.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

Enable hidden files, choose the instruction for your Operating System here:

Scan with HijackThis and check these lines (remember, Add Remove Programs might have gotten some of this:)

Close all programs but HJT and click on "Fix Checked"

Right click on Start, then click on Explore. Look for this item and delete it if it is there.

C:\WINNT\System32\tnugc.dll >>> only

Empty cookies and clean all temp and temp internet files, empty the recycle bin
and restart the computer. Use the instructions in the next two links to stay in this thread then post a new log with any feedback you think we should have.

thankyou pskelley, i was very impatient, and started flying by the seat of my pants. got rid of most things (and probably more than i should). only have some process which occurs on boot that loads 'When U Save' and Bearshare. returned the computer to my brother-in-law, and told him never to surf the web again. Thank you very much for your informative reply. Please consider this a closed case.
