I have been having problems with about:blank hijack and many unwanted pop-ups, I have run spybot and ad aware SE & CWShredder with all updates many times. It appears I may have fixed the about:blank problem as it has been two days since my browser was hijacked back to about:blank. I just downloaded hijack this and was hoping for assistance on what else needs to be removed. I also have two folders in my C:\Programs folder which look suspicious to me - Windows ControlAd and TopConverting they both seem to have appeared right at the time I began having the hijack problems. Any assistance is much appreciated. Here is my Hijack This log.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ndllzxy.exe

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Thanks, I did what you said, althought the both the ndllzxy.exe reference was not noted in the registry or the C:\Windows\System32 folder when I looked for them this time.

I also changed virus scan engine to McAfee from Norton since last post. (New subscription service). I deleted the Windows ControlAd and Top Converting folders. Should I also delete all temp files and folders not deleted by Xp Disk Cleanup? There is a lot of junk there. Here is my latest log. Thanks again!

That's a clean log - well done. Click here to download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder and doubleclick on sss.exe. Check the boxes under the 'Items to Clear' tab and click 'Clear Selected Items'. You will be prompted to reboot, do so. Repeat for all log-in accounts on your computer.

Let me know how it's running now.
Everything is running great! I downloaded the Suite and will use it to clean up my system. Thanks for your assistance. This log can be closed now.
You're welcome - glad to help :D

To help keep you clean follow the recommendations in Tony's article here:

So how did I get infected in the first place?
