Create a new folder called C:HijackThis, move the HijackThis.exe file into the new folder and run it from there. This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong. Then open it click Config>Misc Tools and update to v1.99

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the 'Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste the following, clicking the red 'Delete File' button after pasting each one:

G:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\WinServAd.exe
G:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\WinServSuit.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Make sure that you have no other browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows ServeAd] G:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\WinServAd.exe
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.0.0.0.0
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.real.com/23e425b32041de…ip/RdxIE601.cab

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

G:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\ <– folder

Reboot when done, rescan with HJT and post a new log here. Click here to download mwavscan. Double-click it to run it, select all local drives, scan all files, press 'scan' and when it is completed, anything found will be displayed in the lower pane. Highlight it, CTRL C and paste it in your next reply.
Hello

I've done everything up to the enable hidden files piece, attached below. When I press F8 after BIOS I go into the right screen but my keyboard appears to be disabled and I can't enter safe mode ? none of the arrow keys or F8 buttons work ?

Is there any other way ?

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

G:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\ <– folder

I've also run the escan from microworld which is coming back with 2 viruses in temporary files but I'm unable to copy them from the lower pane ? they are content files.

I have also re-run spybot and the same AdTools problem recurs.

thanks
