I've been trying to remove trojans from my computer with no sucsess. I ran AVG 7.0 and detected Krepper.s , Kneeval.C & Rameh.E Trojans but there is no way to remove them in AVG. So I ran Pest Patrol and it also found the Trojans but could not remove them. My computer is very unstable. Please Help !!

Please download and run Spybot-Search&Destroy and Ad-Aware; they are the standard programs for finding and cleaning malware off your system. Here are links to both programs, and instructions for their use.

Get Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de
(This is the NEW Version 1.3)
Get AdAware SE Personal from http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download
(This is the NEW Build 1.05)

Download and install these programs if you don't already have them. If you do have them, make sure they are UPDATED AND CONFIGURED AS DESCRIBED here:

http://www.cjwd.demon.co.uk/spybot-adaware.html

Reboot after running each program.

Please try these free online virus scans of your system:

Trend-Micro Housecall

Panda Activescan

Etrust Security Advisor

Choose "fix" or "clean".

Let them remove any infections found. Reboot after each scan.

When finished "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread. :)

I am not seeing any signs of infection in the log. Can you post the "full path names" (i.e. "C:\Windows\Trojan.exe") of the problem files?
I hope this is what you need . I can scan this folder with AVG (C:\WINDOWS\TemporaryInternet Files) and the trojan is there but when I open the folder there is nothing in it. The file path is (C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G7) Result- Trojan horse Downloader.Rameh.E Status- Infected,Embedded
Please try this:

Close all Internet Explorer windows.

Use Windows explorer to navigate to, and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G7 <— file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).
:)
NO LUCK : I made sure show all files was checked and I could not find C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G7 I can scan C:WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files with AVG and it shows (Trojan horse Downloader ATPartners.dll Rameh.E) infected embedded but when I open the folder it's not there. If I delete the contents of the folder and scan it again the trojan is still there but when opened the folder its empty. Its killing me
Can you get AVG to make a log file you could copy/paste into here? I have researched this, and it seems some people with AVG have been successful in removing this, and others haven't. Are you running you AVG scans with all other programs CLOSED? Also I'd like to know where the DLL file is located that AVG is detecting. We have tools available to remove stubborn items if we know the "full path name" of the file we need to remove. :)
Hope this is what you need I,m not very good at these types of things. I exported the file to Microsoft Excel and copied it so lets try it Thanks for trying so hard. I,ts driving me up the wall. C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G7QXKVYT\60wu82rd[1].cab:\ATPartners.dll
Let's give this a shot.

Download Killbox.zip

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the 'Paste Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste this entry:

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\G7QXKVYT\60wu82rd[1].cab

Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". In the window that opens up, click on the File menu and choose "Add File". The file should show up in the window.

In the same window choose the Action menu and select "Process and Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.

After the reboot, run AVG to see if we have more work to do.

Please let me know how things go.
:)
THANK YOU SO MUCH ; My PC is now Virus free and I feel I am back in control. I will highly recomend TomCoyote,s highjackthis to everyone I know. thanks again and Happy Holiday,s to you and yours.
I am just glad we could help.

Happy Holidays!!!!

Items you may wish to consider to harden your defenses against future infections:

Read "How did I get infected in the first place?" here:

http://boards.cexx.org/viewtopic.php?t=957

Download IE-Spyad here:

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm

IE-Spyad puts over 4000 known malicious web sites into IE's "restricted zone" to help prevent you from getting infected.

Check your browser settings here:

http://browsercheck.qualys.com/index.php

A series of "tests" (and suggested fixes) to help tweak IE's settings to help prevent infections when surfing the web.

Follow safe Internet practices:

1. Keep your virus definitions up to date, and scan your system regularly.

2. Don't open email, or download attachments from unrecognized email addresses.

3. Be careful when downloading email attachments, EVEN FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW! Many virii, worms, and trojans infect a persons system then immeadiately spread themselves to the people in the infected persons addressbook via email attachments.

4. Be careful downloading files from the Internet. Scan all downloaded files with a reliable UP-TO-DATE antivirus program. Scan "zip" files BEFORE unzipping, and scan all unzipped files BEFORE USING THEM.

5. Keep your Windows and IE current with all the latest patches and updates.
