I've been running spybot and adaware and i keep getting the same hits over and over. Its always the dso exploit. I've also tried running the hijack this, where as that does help with some of the things that were on my pc, i still cant get rid of the one spyware. So how do you get rid of dso exploit? Nothing seems to work.
Hello anthony, Welcome to TomCoyote forum. I wish to tell you that you can safely ignore the DSO Exploit messages as they are a glitch in the program tha will be fixed for the next upgrade. Information at this link will verify this:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/36.html
I also wish to caution you in your use of HijackThis. The information it displays is good as well as bad, please use extreme care if you use it without expert advice.

Hello Anthony, If you wish us to look at your HijackThis log, I will need the complete log, not the startup log. Please make sure you have the current version 1.98.2, and that you have it in a safe permanent folder. I suggest you create a folder on the C:\ name it HJT, then place the HijackThis.exe in that folder. Delete any instance if HJT that is not in that folder. It will look like this in the log: C:\HJT\hijackthis.exe. Scan with HJT, then save the log to NOTEPAD. Choose Edit, then Select All. Copy/Paste that information to this thread. Here is a visual tutorial if it helps: http://www.netstar.me.uk/hjt/hjt.html

i also had another question to ask to i have a wireless router and i knoticed when my pc was off that the internet led was flashing as was my wireless-b connection light witht he activity light on the modem kinda scared me so i unpluged it since then when i turned on my pc i know have a network password when i start up my pc i didnt put it there so i'm really bugged by this should i just keep it unplugged for now or what do you think
Hi Anthony, Is this your complete HJT log? Look at a few others to make sure you did not cut anything off and make sure you are not running Selective Startup in msconfig. If you are, enable all then scan and create a log, and post that. You do not need to reboot. Then you can go back to Selective Startup. I can tell you little about wireless routers, but might be able to point you in the right direction, let's have a look at the HJT log first. Thanks…pskelley
Hi Anthony, There is no malware in the log you showed me.

I think, according to what I see here: C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\HIJACKTHIS.EXE That you have the HJT.exe file on the Desktop with no folder that it needs to store backups and logfiles. If I am correct, create a folder and put the HJT.exe in that folder.

The log indicates that you are running an out of date version of the IE browser: "The version (5.50.4134.0600) is out of date. Check Windows Update to update the Internet Explorer."

If that is your complete log, then you are clean, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss and ChrisRLG to help you stay that way:
http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=3051
http://russelltexas.com/malware/allclear.htm
http://www.cjwd.demon.co.uk/compsafetyonline.html

Please give me more information about the router, and I will see if I can point you to the information you are looking for.

Thanks…pskelley
