Removing Items In Add And Remove Programs

Hello, I'm just wandering if any1 can help me figure out how to remove items listed in my add and remove programs. I'm running xp and for some reason I can't remove a program named......XXX toolbar, when I click to remove it , it does nothing....any help would be great, thanks :wavey:
