Hi. New user here. Stumbled on to this site, downloaded and ran Hijackthis. Wondering if anyone can help. My start up page continually resets to something along the lines of "personlikepagia", "plus18portal.com", and others. When this happens, I can always go into my program files and find a new folder labeled "MStart2Page". Deleting this folder, clearing cookies, temp files, and history stops it for a while (sometimes), but it always comes back. Further, now my system has become noticeably slower, and frequently my internet connection comes up with errors that cause the connection to shut down.
I am using Norton Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware, and Spybot to no avail. Included below is my Hijackthis log. Can anyone please help? Thanks! :wavey:

The following have randomly named file names, and as such are normally malware.
Follow their process tree. Right click on the file and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:
If it's from some name you never heard of or if it's blank, please check for removal also.

The following activeX controls( Download Program Files)will reinstall when(and if) you revisit that website,
UNLESS you know they are from a safe source, check to remove.

Reboot afterwards in SAFE MODE. If you don't know how click here
Delete the following file(s) listed
(do a search for this one. It'll probably be in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32.)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\IEHost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdpupd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\KDP45e5.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmgr32.exe

Delete the folder(s) listed
C:\Program Files\Open Site
C:\WINDOWS\system32\P2P Networking
C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2
C:\Program Files\Common files\SearchUpgrader

Some of these files and folders might have the hidden atribute
How to show hidden files and folders in Windows Instructions here

Then Download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
http://www.igorshpak.net/software/3ssetup104.zip
Under "items to clear" click all. Then click "clear selected items"

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
:) The machine is running a lot smoother now. The start page has not reset (yet) and hopefully won't again. It is also running a lot faster!

I am still having some problems with Internet Explorer comming up with "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" causing my explorer window to close. Don't know if this is related to previous problem(s) or not. <_< I am using IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2… which I believe to be the most current update…

Anyway, following is the Hjt re-scan. Thanks for any and all help you can give and have given. :D

Follow their process tree. Right click on the file and go to Properties.
Then go to the Version tab to see what company name it's from:
If it's from some name you never heard of or if it's blank, please check for removal the file also.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [aUFGTc1v] C:\PROGRA~1\ttsuxx\xsrvvv.exe and I would check program also.

Reboot afterwards in SAFE MODE. If you don't know how click here
Delete the following file(s) listed

C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~2\inetmgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmgr32.exe

Delete the folder(s) listed

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [aUFGTc1v] C:\PROGRA~1\ttsuxx\xsrvvv.exe

 Can't get ttsuxx folder out of program files, it also keeps coming back on the Hjt log.

As far as
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmgr32.exe

Thanks for the help!
No, I do not see anything that pertains to the "ttsuxx"file in add/remove programs. I did go through the registry editor and delete anything that I found when I searched for "ttsuxx". When I try to remove the ttsuxx folder from program files, a message comes back with "Cannot delets vvvrsx.exe (which resides in that folder) Access is denied." Also in that folder are xsrvvv.exe and xsrvvv.dll, both of which come up with the same message when I try to delete them. I am the administrator on my computer so I should have access to anything  Also, going through program files there is a "MyWay" folder. Wondering if I should get rid of that too? If so, should I search the registry as well?
Goto the folder ttsuxx right ckick on it and send it to a zipfile then send it to this address

Download Killbox.zip

Extract it from the zip file then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the 'Paste Full Path of File to Delete' box, copy and paste this entry:

C:\Program Files\ttsuxx\xsrvvv.exe

Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". In the window that opens up, click on the File menu and choose "Add File". The file should show up in the window. Then repeat the process, this time adding:

C:\Program Files\ttsuxx\vvvrsx.exe

If that's successful you should have the two files listed.
repete for
C:\Program Files\ttsuxx\vvvrsx.exe
When they are all there (and double check!), in the same window choose the Action menu and select "Process and Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.

Also, going through program files there is a "MyWay" folder. Wondering if I should get rid of that too? If so, should I search the registry as well?

yes
:D Success! It all has appeared to work. These files and folders are not comming back, everything appears to be running smoothly now. I.E. still runs into "Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and shuts down, but I'm thinking that has to do with Microsoft, not a virus. Thanks a lot! :weee:
Glad we could help :D
