My browser was hijacked when my son clicked on some unknown program. After reclaiming it, the address bar search function was disabled. I downloaded a batch file fix, which worked, and have put the system through adaware, spybot S & D, and now am running webroot spysweeper. All was fine until I applied SP2. At that point, I lost the address bar search again. Applying the same batch file didn't fix the registry. I installed google's search toolbar, which doesn't show up as a toolbar, but did reinstate the address bar search. My hijack this log is below: I can't locate what I may have missed that's causing the slowdown. I do run weatherbug, which ran w/out slowdowns before the rest of this problem started.
thanks in advance,
Erin Cox-Holmes
