The internet-page search.naupoint.com is the page that my IE Browser is starting with and I was not able to change that yet. I have Windows XP with SP2. I checked and cleansed my system with both Spyboth S&D and Ad-Aware. Both with the latest versions. I rebooted.
I did a scan with Highjackthis and the scna listed 13 items with naupoint. I tried to delete them by pressing the fix button, but 8 items of naupoint stayed in place. Thus I could not remove them wiht Highjackthis, or did I do soething wrong ?

I downloaded and ran CWShredder during which nothing was found.
I rebooted, downloaded and ran Trend Micro's virusscanner
(I allready ran the virusscanner of McAfee in the beginning of my search a few hours ago)

Please boot to safe mde (tap f8 while bios loads) then scan with hijackthis and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Thank you Siggyx, My problem is solved ! Naupoint is gone from my system ! PS. A few months ago I had a problem with a persistent toolbar from Naupoint. I could fix the problem then by deleting the naupoint items from the registry. It seems that Naupoint has found a new (?) way to irritate computer-users. PS 2. HijackThis reported an internal error while removing the last item you mentioned : eprlrr9.dll. It was removed anyhow. I was asked to make a report for Merijn, but unfortunately I lost the error-message. Anyway, my problem is solved. Thank you once again.. If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. In my signature below is also a tutorial on how to harden IE, a good read and very helpful to stop these things in the future. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on.
