Hello,

every time I log in, my Spybot resident warns me about attempt of Altnet to modify registry. I ran Ad-Aware and Spybot, but the problem persists. Below is my hijackthis log.

Thanks in advance,

Igor

Hello iskokin This is just a short note to let you know that I am having a look at your Hijack This logfile and will have a response as soon as possible.
Hello iskokin Just to be on the safe side, please check with Nortons for updates. Before we start I notice you have Spybots TeaTimer running, Tea Timer will do it's job and will resist any changes we try to make to your system so just for now could you disable it. When we have finished the fix then re-enable it. Open Spybot, go to Mode > Advanced. Then click on Tools. In the menu on the left hand side you will see Resident, click that and then untick 'Resident "Teatimer" (Protection of over all system settings) active. Please run Hijack This again and place check marks next to the following entry. O18 - Protocol: dynascript - {3050F3B2-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B} - %SystemRoot%\System32\mshtml.dll (file missing) Close all other windows and browsers, then click on "Fix Checked. Then please REBOOT. Your Hijack This logfile is clean with the exception of that one 018 file. Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications: * aSpywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed. * Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts. * How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware. * How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware. To protect yourself further: * IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites. * MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer * Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows. I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis. And also see TonyKlein's good advice So how did I get infected in the first place?
Piatan, thanks for your help. I already have some of the tools you mentioned, but others are new for me, I will take a look. I tried to check this entry in my HJT log: O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} and found that it points to the file "gtdownls_95.ocx". I could not find more about it on the web, so if you could let me know what it is - this would satisfy my curiosity - this would be great. Otherwise, this case is closed. Igor
