After help from this forum to clean up my hijackthis log, I still have the following in my registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\UPDATER There are several subfolders (titles mostly numbers/letters) with a lot of stuff in them. I have never edited the registry directly, but this refers to the updater.exe stuff. Should I get rid of it and if so, how should I do it SAFELY?!? Thanks.
Here's a fresh Hijackthis log:

Your log looks clean,,..

It's not safe to edit the registry by yourselves unless you know what you are doing,..

One thing you can do is right on the key,..then select export ,…save it in a location you remember,… so that if you get any problems because of this, you can restore the entries by double clicking on the XXXX.reg file you have saved (where xxxx refers to the name you specified, ..)

Good luck,,..
Thank you so much, Baskar1234 ! I guess I shouldn't worry about the registry then. I don't want to mess anything up. I definitely do not know what to do with the registry. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't causing any more problems. Thanks!
Glad we could help :D
