Hi Shannon74133.

Could you try something for me.

Open up TheKillbox. Copy and pate this line in the field:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\yiyaau.exe

As before, make sure it is exact, make it is set to delete on reboot, click on the "X" button, click exit to close TheKillbox.

Reboot into Safe Mode.

Start HijackThis. Click on the Config… button. Click on Misc Tools. Click Open process manager.

If either yuyggp.exe or yiyaau.exe are there, hi-lite the entry, click the Kill Process button.

Search for the file, if found, delete it. Reboot and scan with HijackThis.

Post the new log please.

Thanks!
KotaGuy,

Followed your instructions above. Here is what I did/found.

First I opened TheKillBox and I copied and pasted the yiyaau.exe link and chose delete on reboot and closed the box. Then I rebooted into safe mode, opened HJT and opened the Open Process Manager as you told me too. Neither yuyggp.exe OR yiyaau.exe were present when I opened the OP Manager. So I advanced on to the next step, and I did a search for both files, both were found (2) of the yuyggp.exe and (1) of the yiyaau.exe (that one said something about "prefetch" anyhow, I deleted both like you advised and then rebooted back into regular mode, and scanned with HJT again, but AS YOU CAN SEE AGAIN…that yiyaau.exe is back…YET AGAIN….

What to do…what to do…..
Hi Shannon74133!

Persistent little pest, isn't it?

Lets try something different.

Make sure Tea Timer is disabled.

Open up the Task Manager. If either yuyggp.exe or yiyaau.exe is there, End Task the process.

Open HijackThis, scan, and with all other broswers and windows closed, place a check beside the following and fix:

Click on the Config… button, click Misc Tools, click the button that says Delete a file on reboot.

Delete C:\Windows\System32\yiyaau.exe

Reboot, rescan, and post the new log please.

Thanks!
Hi Shannon74133.

I would like you to do something for me.

1. Please download DllCompare

2. Start the Program with its default settings and put a check mark in the include subdirectories. Click the Run Locate.com and wait until the scan says complete.

3. Click the Compare button to start the next process.

4. Files in the upper portion have been verified to "exist", Files in the bottom section were not able to be accessed. Very few files should be listed in the bottom section when the Compare scan is complete.

5. Click on each of the listed entries in the lower section to select them. Right-click on the file and use the Option Rescan.

6. This will cause Windows Find to see if the file does exist, and then it will be removed from the list (to reduce the number of identified files)

7. Click the Make a Log of what was found button, and post the log here in this thread using Add Reply to receive further instructions.

Thanks!

I didn't do the post before you last post yet, because I wanted to ask you, if I remove some of those from with HJT, will it mess up my yahoo messenger? I noticed some of them were associated with yahoo, and I can't mess up the function of it, cuz I depend on it everday. As you can see, I ran the dllcompare software, and it didn't find anything :( This is frustrating for both you and I for sure…..
Ok KotaGuy, Bear with me here, but Im going to post a Startup list log and a HJT log , so that you can take it look at it. This is what it scanned AFTER I put both yuyggp.exe and yiyaau.exe in the "delete a file after reboot" on HJT. KotaGuy… OK, Im back at it all again….I took a break from it all for the weekend! Anyhow, did like you told me and emailed both files zipped to you to your email. However, here are some observations as of today… When I did a "search" for both files, they came up, but only as "PREFETCH" and not in my system 32 anymore. Is this a good thing? I left my computer off all weekend and had it unplugged from my cable modem as well. I dunno..maybe Im wishful thinking now…..who knows…but anyhow..let me know what u would like from me next…..

Shannon74133, you are also posting about this problem at lavasoft.
http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?s…pic=48593&st=20
This is called "cross posting" and is considered rude as it consumes the time of two helpers for a single computer. We are happy to help but many others also need our time. Please let us know if you would like to continue posting to this topic or if you will be posing at lavasoft, in which case this topic can be closed.
Thank you.
I had no clue that these two forums where related. I was seeking help from anyone who would help me and both of these sites were recommended to me. I do apologize for my "unknowingness"

Again, I didn't realize the both were "related" again, I fully apologize for my 'stupidity" I will continue to stay here. Sorry, again, I thank everyone for thier help.

Its ok Shannon74133, as stated by Galadriel following two different lines of advice can actually make the repair process take longer. Also, as you can probably tell, the helpers are very busy so one helper to a problem helps more people get their problems solved. I will close the topic here as you will be receiving help at Lavasoft. Lavasoft and TomCoyote are not oficially related, most helpers donate their time to multiple forums.

This topic is closed, if you need it reopened please contact us by clicking this link.
If you are not the person who started this topic, you cannot get it reopened so please don't waste our time and yours trying.

If you send a request to reopen please include a valid, working link to this topic along with the user name of the topic starter. If any of this is missing or you are not the topic starter, the mail will be deleted.
