Please Help Been Hijacked

Have pop up blockers in place. Have spybot, spyware blaster, adaware, and spyware guard. Still get some pop ups and a tool bar on the bottom of my screen. Can someone help me.

download the VX cleaner plug in for Adaware. Install it, then open Adaware & go to *add-ons* & run the plug-in. If anything is found, select *clean system* & when done, reboot & run Adaware & let it finish the clean-up. Reboot again.

Download HijackThis from here & unzip it into it's own, permanent folder, (Not a temporary folder or the desktop (in a folder on the desktop is fine) & not directly on your hard drive). If you prefer an executable file, then download from here.
If you have anything disabled in MsConfig, please re-enable it/them.
Start HJT & with all browser windows closed, press the scan button. When the scan is finished the scan button will change to save. Save the log to a text file, copy the entire contents of the text file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

Glad to assist :). You may have a nasty that one of our experts will have to look at, but we will clean up a bit first & see.

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done. If not listed there, run this uninstaller:

Please disable spywareguard either from within the program, or through Msconfig as it may interfere with the repairs :). Once you have disabled it, make sure it has, in fact, stopped.

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':

Navigate to & delete the following, still in safe mode:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\shim online idol mix-folder
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\HELP CDROM HECK WAIT-folder

In order to view these files you may have to select 'show hidden files/folders.' Instructions on how to here.

Still in safe mode, clear out your Temporary internet files and other temp files.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel >Internet Options.
Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files,
delete all Offline content as well. Clear out Cookies.

Also, go to Start > Find/search > Files or folders > in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit > select all -> File > delete.

Empty/delete the entire contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. (Contents but not the folder itself.)

This one too if Win2K or XP.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\

In order to view these files you may have to select 'show hidden files/folders.' Instructions on how to here.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

Please reboot into normal mode, rescan with hijackthis & post that log here.

Did everything step by step. Had a problem with the follow it would not let me delete them (Also, go to Start > Find/search > Files or folders > in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit > select all -> File > delete). But made it through everything else OK. here is my new log

That looks fine to me :). One (maybe two) question(s), were both of these scans done in safe mode? Looks to me like you should have more processes running.

Do you have Sun Java on your comp? If you do not, have HJT fix these:

Yes I do have sun java. No neither of the scans posted were run in safe mode. The tool bar is gone and so far no pop ups. Thank you very much. :)
