my uploading speed that is displayed is quite different from the actual upload speed. In programs like flashFXP or IRC, or anywhere where im uploading too, i get a display upload speed of 1-2mb/sec where my actual upload speed should be 15kb/sec. After a few seconds the speed tappers off, because the 1.6mb/sec speed is fake. Could this be a virus or spyware? i can provide pictures if necessary. Ive tried uploading to the same path on the same server and different servers on a different computer, and the upload works fine and displays properly as 15kb/sec. so it is either the cable or something is messed up with my connection or a software issue?

heres my hijackthis log

my computer itself is fine except for the uploading display problem. i cannot seem to find a fix for that. Heres a fresh scan of HJT after following your steps.

Also the speeds seem to be timeing out as well as displaying incorrectly..it doesnt display as an insane speed on any other computers. 15kb/sec and doesnt time out.

Every first hop of a tracert i do also "request time out" for each 1st hop, and the rest are fine..to any website

Also im getting TONS of disconnections
Fix these also, O1 - Hosts: 66.246.37.52 xenon-4.net O1 - Hosts: 66.246.37.52 www.xenon-4.net O1 - Hosts: 66.246.37.52 dayzero.xenon-4.net
Yes I am. The laptop is also running through the router with the same setup. and i dont get the display errors on that machine. Ive tried switching cables to see if it was a cable problem but it isnt…the cable that displayed the upload speeds correctly on my laptop displays them wrong on my main PC. ive also eliminated the chance that it could be a program error. Ive gotten the same results through AIM, FlashFXP and IRC now If it was JUST a display problem then id be ok with it..but after a few seconds of going at 2megs/sec it goes to 0kb/sec and disconnects.. i have to reconnect and resume the file several times before it finishes It is : A Linksys Wireless B Broadband Router 0 BEFW11S4
I don't see anything odd in your HJT log but I am not at home and don't have all my resources at hand. Try this virus scanner.

Micro World http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp

To run the virus scan make sure you click the following

memory, registry, startup folders, system folders, services, drive (all drives will be added) then click on scan clean. Let little eagle know if it finds soemthing that it can not remove then post a new hijackthis log.

The scan will take a long time I warn you now so best is to start it and post back in the morning.

Last question that you can also post with the log. Do you content through a proxy server?
